Gromadan respects users’ right to privacy and pays close attention to protecting personal data.
This Privacy Policy explains what data may be processed when using the Gromadan website, for what purposes it is used, how it is protected, in what cases it may be shared with other parties, and what rights users have regarding their personal data.
By using Gromadan, a user may provide personal data directly through registration, creating a profile, publishing materials, posting listings, communicating, contacting support, and using other site features.
1. General information
Gromadan is an online platform for communication, posts, local communities, and classified listings.
For the purposes of personal data protection law, Gromadan acts as the controller of personal data with respect to data processed in connection with the platform’s operation.

Personal data is processed in accordance with applicable Ukrainian law, in particular personal data protection legislation.
2. What is personal data
Personal data is information or a set of information about an individual who is identified or can be specifically identified.
Depending on which Gromadan features a particular user uses, the platform may process different categories of data.
3. What data we may process
3.1. Account data
During registration and account use, the following may be processed:
- email address;
- username or nickname;
- password in protected form;
- account creation date;
- account settings;
- interface language;
- data needed to recover and secure the account.
Gromadan must not store a user’s password in plain text.
3.2. Profile data
A user may voluntarily add to their profile:
- a name or display name;
- a photo;
- age or date of birth;
- city and region;
- a profile description;
- interests;
- relationship status;
- other information the user voluntarily publishes.
The user independently decides what information about themselves to make public, within the platform’s available settings.
3.3. Posts and user content
Gromadan may process materials that a user posts on the platform, including:
- posts;
- comments;
- photos;
- videos and other uploaded materials;
- profiles;
- listings;
- reviews and ratings;
- links;
- other materials created or posted by the user.
The user must independently assess what information they wish to make public.
3.4. Listings
When posting listings, data related to the specific listing may be processed, including:
- title and description;
- category;
- price;
- city, district, and other location information about the property;
- photos;
- characteristics of the real estate or other item;
- contact information that the user voluntarily provides for communication;
- information about the author of the listing.
Personal data of third parties, documents, bank details, and other confidential information should not be included in a public listing unless there is a legal basis and necessity for their publication.
3.5. Communication and messages
When using communication features, Gromadan may process:
- the content of messages;
- data about the participants in the conversation;
- the date and time sent;
- technical information necessary for the system to function.
Private messages and other non-public forms of communication are not intended for open display on the site.
Access to non-public materials may be granted only to the extent strictly necessary to operate the service, investigate reports, prevent abuse, protect users, ensure security, or comply with legal requirements.
3.6. Anonymous and incognito features
When using anonymous or incognito communication features, Gromadan may process technical data and information necessary to match participants, maintain the connection, prevent abuse, and ensure security.
The anonymity of a feature does not mean that the user becomes fully anonymous to the site’s technical infrastructure.
3.7. Data when contacting Gromadan
If a user contacts Gromadan by email or through a feedback form, the following may be processed:
- name or nickname;
- email address;
- the content of the inquiry;
- attached materials;
- information necessary to review the inquiry.
3.8. Content reports
When submitting a report, the following may be processed:
- the reporter’s contact details;
- a link to the reported item;
- a description of the violation;
- the category of the report;
- materials provided as evidence;
- information about the outcome of the review.
Such information may be retained for the period necessary to review the inquiry, ensure security, and protect legal rights and interests.
3.9. Technical data
While visiting the site, technical information may be automatically processed, such as:
- IP address;
- device type;
- operating system;
- browser;
- browser language;
- date and time of access;
- URL of the page visited;
- information about the user’s actions on the site;
- technical identifiers;
- security and server logs.
This data may be used to ensure the site functions properly, diagnose errors, prevent fraud and abuse, ensure security, and analyze platform performance.
An IP address and other technical identifiers may be treated as personal data depending on the ability to identify a specific person and applicable law.
4. Purposes of processing personal data
Gromadan processes personal data only for specific and lawful purposes.
Depending on the feature used, data may be used for:
4.1. Registration and account operation
- creating an account;
- authorization;
- restoring access;
- configuring the profile;
- providing site features.
4.2. Displaying public information
If a user voluntarily publishes information as public, it may be displayed:
- in the profile;
- in posts;
- in comments;
- in listings;
- on city pages;
- in ratings and curated collections;
- in other relevant sections of Gromadan.
Some public pages may be accessible without registration and, depending on their settings, may be found by search engines.
4.3. Communication
For:
- sending and receiving messages;
- chat functionality;
- matching users;
- notifications;
- other interaction features.
4.4. Listings
For posting, displaying, searching, sorting, and managing listings.
4.5. Moderation and security
For:
- detecting spam;
- preventing fraud;
- identifying rule violations;
- reviewing reports;
- protecting users;
- preventing unauthorized access;
- investigating abuse;
- ensuring platform security.
4.6. Support
For processing user questions, inquiries, technical issues, and other requests.
4.7. Service improvement
Anonymized or otherwise permissibly used technical and statistical data may be applied to analyze how Gromadan is used, identify errors, improve the interface, and develop site features.
4.8. Compliance with legal requirements
Data may be processed and retained where necessary to comply with legal requirements, to protect the rights and legitimate interests of Gromadan, users, or third parties, and to comply with lawful requests from authorized authorities.
5. Legal bases for processing personal data
Depending on the specific situation, personal data may be processed:
- on the basis of the user’s consent;
- in connection with registration and the provision of features requested by the user;
- to comply with statutory obligations;
- to protect the rights and legitimate interests of Gromadan, users, and other persons;
- in other cases provided for by Ukrainian law.
The purpose of processing must be specific and lawful, and the scope of personal data processed must correspond to that purpose and not be excessive.
Where consent is required for a particular type of processing, Gromadan obtains such consent through an action or setting provided through the site’s interface.
6. Public information
Some Gromadan features are intended for the public posting of user content.
The user independently decides what information to publish on an open page, where the relevant feature allows this.
Publicly posted information may be viewed by other users and, depending on the nature of the page, may be accessible without registration.
Some public Gromadan pages may be indexed by search engines.
Before publishing, the user should take into account that information published publicly on the internet may be copied, saved, or distributed by third parties regardless of Gromadan’s technical capabilities.
7. Photos and images
A user uploading a photo or other image must have the right to use and post it.
The following should not be posted:
- photos of other people without the necessary permission;
- intimate images of other people without their consent;
- images of documents and other confidential materials;
- materials that infringe the rights of third parties;
- content prohibited by law.
Ukrainian law separately regulates the protection of personal data and the use of information about a person’s image. The user is therefore responsible for the lawfulness of the materials they publish.
8. Special categories of personal data
Gromadan is not intended to collect sensitive information unless such processing is necessary and has an appropriate legal basis.
Data subject to special requirements in Ukraine includes, in particular, information about health, sex life, biometric and genetic data, and certain other categories. Processing such data is generally prohibited, except in cases established by law, including the explicit consent of the data subject where provided for.
Users are advised not to post information about their health, intimate life, medical documents, or other sensitive data in their public profile or posts unless such publication is necessary.
9. Data of minors
Gromadan does not encourage children or teenagers to post information that could jeopardize their safety or privacy.
The user must not use the site’s features in violation of the applicable age restrictions and legal requirements.

10. Who data may be shared with
Gromadan does not sell users’ personal data as a standalone product.
Access to data may be granted only to the extent necessary for the relevant purpose, in particular to:
- technical providers ensuring hosting and infrastructure operation;
- email and technical support service providers;
- analytics and technical service providers;
- advertising and technology partners, if the relevant services are used on the site;
- payment providers, if the user uses paid services;
- other providers necessary for the operation of individual Gromadan features;
- government authorities and other parties in cases and to the extent provided for by law.
Data is transferred only in accordance with applicable law and taking into account the nature of the relevant data.
11. Google, advertising, and third-party technologies
If Gromadan uses Google AdSense, Google Analytics, or other Google products, the relevant technologies may process technical information about site visits.
Google requires publishers to have and comply with a privacy policy that discloses the collection, use, and sharing of data related to Google products, including the use of cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, and other identifiers. Google also requires that users be informed that third parties may serve and read cookies or use web beacons or IP addresses in connection with the serving of ads.
Advertising technologies may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads.
The user may manage ad personalization through Google Ads settings where this option is provided by Google.

12. International data transfer
Some technical and service providers may be located outside Ukraine.
When transferring or granting access to personal data outside Ukraine, Gromadan applies the requirements and safeguards provided for by law.
The specific list of providers may change as the platform develops and is technically updated.
13. Data retention period
Gromadan retains personal data no longer than necessary to achieve the lawful purpose of its processing, unless a longer period is required by law or necessary to protect rights and legitimate interests.
Depending on the nature of the data, the following periods may apply:
- account data — for the duration of the account and the necessary period after its deletion;
- public content — as long as the user or Gromadan has grounds to retain and display it;
- inquiry and report data — for the period necessary for their review, security, and rights protection;
- technical logs — for the period necessary for security, diagnostics, and infrastructure operation;
- documents and data that must be retained by law — for the period established by law.
Once the need for processing in identifiable form ends, the data is deleted or anonymized where technically and legally possible.
Ukrainian law provides that personal data must be kept in a form that allows a person to be identified for no longer than necessary for the lawful purposes of processing.
14. Account and data deletion
The user may contact Gromadan to request the deletion of their account and related personal data.
After an account is deleted, some data may be retained for the necessary period if its retention is required:
- by law;
- to fulfill legal obligations;
- to prevent fraud and abuse;
- to review reports and disputes;
- to protect the rights of Gromadan or other persons;
- in other cases provided for by law.
Some published materials may be deleted, anonymized, or retained in a limited form depending on their nature and the need for further retention.
15. User rights
Under Ukrainian law, in cases and in the manner provided for by law, the user has the right to:
- know the sources of collection and location of their personal data;
- know the purpose of processing their personal data;
- receive information about which of their data is being processed;
- request correction of inaccurate or outdated data;
- request the deletion or destruction of data in cases provided for by law;
- withdraw consent to processing where processing is based on consent;
- restrict processing in cases provided for by law;
- protect their personal data from unlawful processing;
- file complaints with the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights or with a court;
- use other legal remedies provided for by law.
Ukrainian law expressly provides, among other things, the right to know the source and purpose of data processing, to withdraw consent, to challenge processing, and to receive protection from unlawful processing.
16. How to exercise your rights

- your name or another user identifier;
- the email address associated with your account, if any;
- the content of the request;
- which data or action the request relates to.
Where necessary to protect personal data, Gromadan may request confirmation of the requester’s identity.
17. Security of personal data
Gromadan takes organizational and technical measures to protect personal data from:
- unlawful access;
- accidental or unlawful destruction;
- loss;
- alteration;
- disclosure;
- other improper use.
Access to personal data is restricted in accordance with the need to perform the relevant duties.
However, no method of transmitting data over the internet or of electronic storage can guarantee absolute security.
18. Links to third-party sites
Gromadan may contain links to third-party sites and services.
Once you go to a third-party resource, data processing is governed by that resource’s privacy policy, not by this Policy.
Gromadan recommends independently reviewing the terms and policies of third-party services before using them.
19. Changes to this Privacy Policy
Gromadan may update this Privacy Policy due to changes in the site’s features, applicable law, technical solutions, or third-party services used.
The current version of the Policy is published on this page.
In the case of material changes, Gromadan may additionally notify users through means available on the site.
The date of the last update is indicated at the top of the page.
